Dr. John Weldon
PT, DPT, CFMT + Owner
As the only CFMT in Waco and the surrounding area, Dr. John Weldon brings to Central Texas exciting new opportunities for healing and care. Functional Manual Therapy is an innovative approach to patient care and wellness that incorporates mobilization, neuromuscular facilitation, and motor control training to alleviate pain and restore efficient movement. Dr. Weldon has undergone extensive training to identify specific mobility limitations within the joints, soft tissues, viscera and neurovascular tissues. These kinds of limitations can impair a person’s function and ability to automatically and efficiently control their movements, which often leads to pain and decreased ability to perform normal daily activities.
“My work is passion and purpose driven. I want people to experience the difference Functional Manual Therapy can make in their lives. I want people to know that they don’t have to be held back by the pain they feel. The body has the potential to overcome injury with the right approach. Functional Manual Therapy gets effective results and improves lives.” – Dr. John Weldon
Prior to opening WELL+DONE, Dr. Weldon led Elite Sports Therapy as Director of Physical Therapy. After receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Hardin Simmons in 2013, he also worked in an outpatient clinic that specialized in Manual Therapy. He also has spent many years working with patients in acute care and home health care in New Mexico and Texas.
When Dr. Weldon isn’t treating patients, he enjoys time with his family, being outdoors, building furniture, hunting, attending church and passing on a love of sports to his two young sons. Since playing collegiate football at Hardin Simmons and also leading his Wimberley Texans high school football team to their first state championship as quarterback in 2005, Dr. Weldon has experienced firsthand how sports, and physical activity, can change the course of people’s lives. He believes everyone should have the opportunity to move in ways that feel natural and right for their lives and is committed to helping his patients find their way to full physical restoration and health.
